Box Encapsulation Plant (BEP) Project

The Pre-Qualification Process

Rachel Beech, Supply Chain Manager at BEP explains the pre-qualification process for the BEP project.

Why do I need to go through the pre-qualification process?

Screening of potential suppliers is a standard process for most organisations and BEP is no exception. BEP has a list of key requirements that all suppliers must have as a minimum. Whether this is technical and financial competency or available resources, it is important that all successful suppliers can complete the project.

Working in partnership with Cumbria Business Growth Hub who are able to provide a range of specialist and general business support to assist businesses in getting supply chain ready.

The BEP team are keen to engage with the local supply chain and support them through the pre-qualification process.

If there is a need for the services that you provide, you will be invited to go through the pre-qualification process for the project.

You’ll be helped to decide which pre-qualification route is the best for your business.

Further support is available if needed.

There’s a desktop process and then a quality audit, and dependent of the services that you provide, there might also be a need for a Health & Safety audit.

Full support is given throughout this process.

After successful completion, there is full access to procurement opportunities.

Routes to market are mainly around frameworks specific to the project or the more traditional competitive tender and even single source.

If you can demonstrate significant value to single sourcing a particular package, this is one option. It has to demonstrate best value for the project and the client.

See the Builder’s Profile website which provides a useful pre-qualification tool.
